Digital Photo: explain memory

What is a memory card?

A memory card is a storage device used by digital cameras, digital photos and write. It is a mechanism for storing your photos, and later transferred to the computer for processing and printing. In essence, a memory of a digital camera, a computer's hard disk. This means that the size of your memory card is directly related to how many images can be stored and the speed of> The impact of the memory card directly into the speed of your camera can read and write photos!

The Need for Speed

Since the development of digital cameras to improve image quality, the store size is increasing and is becoming increasingly important to have a memory card that is fast enough to write these images to see before you want another chance . CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) format of two types of memory cards that will improve their speed to keep up withwith senior officials in the new megapixel cameras. Not only that, a faster memory card before you can take a second shot, but also leads to faster downloads to your computer. The higher the limit of the memory card 's memory, the most important is the transfer speed. Otherwise, the memory card of 2 GB will have one hour of airtime!

Memory speeds are based on a rule where 1x corresponds to the measured transfer of 150 KBper second. This means that a 10-card transfers data transfers at speeds of 1.5 MB per second and a 133x card data memory at a speed of almost 20 MB per second. These figures tend to show the best, if the card with a camera that uses a super-fast recording capability. Surely not every digital camera is coded to take advantage of these transmission rates, so you can quickly on cards before buying. Necessary, for example, a number of Lexar's 133x has a memory, but quick movements of cameras that are specifically designed with the card technology - in this case, if a list of cameras that prices would translate into quick, but my camera is not on the list.

There are two types of speeds should be aware, each of which is measured based on 1x:

1) Write speed - the time of the camera images to save> Memory

2) Speed - the time you open your camera to a photo memory card

Great Price Kingston 16 GB SDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SD4/16GB

Kingston 16 GB SDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SD4/16GB Review

Nothing wrong with the first one either, I just wanted an extra. These are outstanding cards because they are reliable. I know others say they've had ones that flake out on them, but it hasn't happened to me or my colleagues that have been using them. I prefer them over other brands that may be cheaper (only slightly though) or have presumably faster speeds (i.e.Class 6)
For the record, the difference between class 4 or class 6 in many devices is negligible. I use my card for recording audio, as well as taking consumer pictures (canon sd1000).
KING of Sd cards holds a TON - Mark W. Evans -
This SD card has been great. I bought it to take on a two week trip to Australia, and it served me well in the land down under. I wondered at first if I should have splurged for the 16GB card, but this was plenty of space for my snapshots and videos. The price was also better than other places I checked!

Memory Cards - Understanding the different types and formats

Memory cards provide the basis for all digital devices that require some type of data resident in memory on board. For example, substitute the new era of digital cameras and mobile phones, Photo Film cards to store images. You can delete unwanted images and save the ones you want in a computer and then write to a CD. A memory card that can in theory be re-used for an infinite number of times. These cards are flash memory technology is based and thebest part about using memory cards is that they are not only the sheer size of the circuit, but are also relatively stronger than the modern media.

Flash memory, memory cards are not used mechanical moving parts, so wear the storage facilities is almost negligible, and you can be sure that your flash drive is running, even after years. In addition to mobile phones and cameras, these cards arefind use in pen drives, laptops and other electronic devices. Competition among producers and reduce the cost of raw materials (semiconductor circuits and chips) are in a constant increase in the capacity of these cards costs exorbitantly low.

New age cards that are in liquid and semi-solid forms are also used in those days. Although technically sophisticated devices that use these cards, compared with flash memory, butare easy to use and have a full capacity. These cards are known as mem-proletarians of the geeks and people related to the technology they use regularly. Power available memory capacity, compact size and ease of use, along with reliability, these cards are a must-have "storage device for almost all of today. With SD / MMC and XD versions already on the market that promises be bright future for memory and people with them.

Kingston 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDC4/8GB

Kingston 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDC4/8GB Review

Kingston

I use the microSDHC for a TMobile G1 Android phone and it works without a hitch. I also tried the SD adapter for a digital camera (Canon G9), and used that with a SD-CF adapter for a Canon Rebel XT. Everything worked without any problems, and the performance lags that result from multiple adapters are minimal (hardly noticeable). It is a handy card to have if you own and use multiple devices.
